Guests who leave messages may provide their name and submit content including text messages, voice recordings, video recordings, and photos. Guest names are stored locally on their device and are not linked to any account.

2.4 Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information when you access our services, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and usage patterns. This helps us improve our services and troubleshoot issues.

• With event hosts: Guest messages and content are shared with the event host who created the guestbook
• With co-hosts: If an event host invites co-hosts, those co-hosts can access event content
• Service providers: We use third-party services to operate our platform, including Amazon Web Services (AWS — hosting and storage), Paddle (payment processing and tax handling), Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Google Tag Manager (analytics and advertising measurement)
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Event data and guest content are retained based on your subscription tier:

• Free tier: Data is retained for 30 days after the event date
• Paid tiers: Data is retained for the duration specified in your plan (typically 1-2 years)

You can export your data at any time and request deletion of your account and associated data.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Enhanced Conversions — When you complete a paid upgrade, we share a one-way SHA-256 hash of your email address with Google Ads to improve attribution accuracy across devices. Plaintext email is never transmitted; only the hash leaves your browser. Google uses this hash solely to match the conversion to a previously logged-in user; it cannot be reversed to recover the email address.

8.3 Your Choices

You can manage how Google personalizes ads to you at adssettings.google.com. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking site-wide by installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. EU and UK residents can additionally opt out at youronlinechoices.eu.
